This merely illustrative image is a small sample of the universe of cavaquinho practice in Portugal. AC Museu Cavaquinho, based on the inventory it has carried out (with the exception of teaching places and folk groups), estimates that on the mainland (including professionals and amateurs) there are 2300 individuals who play the cavaquinho and, in Madeira, 60 who play the braguinha.
